Gresham Community Gardening Club meets every Friday at 2.00, usually at Meath Street Resource Centre. Check our facebook page for latest updates.
Throughout 2018 we’ve put on a range of gardening activities. This has included growing fruits, veg and flowers, giving away strawberry planters and starting work on raised beds in several places around Gresham.
2019 has also started with a bang. We joined a flock of other community gardeners for the launch of Incredible Edibles in Middlesbrough. We’re also pulling together exciting plans for a gardening social enterprise in Gresham and of course for several community allotment sites.
If you want to get involved just email us via the Contact page. It’s completely free! Or check out the Community Garden website here for details of events and how to get involved. Or like our page on Facebook.
In the coming months we’ll be concentrating on developing a new community allotment at People’s Park. Food grown will help to support the homeless cafe on Princes Road and local food banks.
We want Gresham Community Garden to be a place where people have fun, feel safe and help to make their community a better place to live.
And what an amazing coincidence! We just found this map from 1895 which shows the whole area used to be allotments. Let’s bring the garden back into Gresham!
